Check-In Asia take place in Kuala Lumpur, 24-26 November 2010

The NEW passenger and baggage processing forum for Asia Pacific travel industry stakeholders

We at PPS (the leading air transport publisher and event organiser) staged the first of our meetings in this field – disCUSS – in Las Vegas with McCarran International Airport and IBM back in 2006, in response to a surge of interest in Common Use Self Service (CUSS).

It was a big success, but even by the time we staged disCUSS it was clear we were in the middle of a check-in revolution, and a number of other new processes such as internet check-in, mobile and offsite were changing the landscape forever. Since then we have staged three highly successful Check-In events in both Las Vegas and Florida, which annually attracted almost 300 attendees and more than 25 exhibitors.

These events in North America attracted strong global interest, but the distance for stakeholders in Asia-Pacific countries was too great to make it feasible for many to come. So, we decided to satisfy the undoubted demand to share knowledge and experiences in this important subject area, by bringing the event to one of the most impressive reference sites in the continent – Kuala Lumpur.

Working with Malaysia Airports and IATA our goal is to stage an exciting conference and exhibition specifically developed for travel industry stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region, so airlines, airports, handlers, hotels, cruise operators, security agencies and industry providers can make the best possible decisions regarding the evolution of their passenger and baggage processing methods, and other offerings relating to improving the whole passenger experience.

  • Air New ZealandI really enjoyed attending Check-In ‘09 in Las Vegas, but I think the KL event is a great idea as it will provide an invaluable forum for progressive travel industry stakeholders in this region to share experiences and ideas on the future of passenger and baggage processing, at a location in closer proximity.

  • IBMIBM has found it of great value to participate in the Check-in conferences. The shows are well attended and we see them as a great opportunity to meet our customers, both current and future, and to demonstrate our latest self-service solutions. IBM looks forward to bringing our demonstration capability to Kuala Lumpur in November 2010.”
